Macro photography is a unique form of photography that involves photographing small objects to make them look life-sized or more significant in the photo. The usual subjects include flowers and small insects, which we don't normally get to see up close with the naked eye.

The class will start when the insects are more active. So be ready to explore and capture breathe-taking macro images.

Although no insects or flowers are present yet, the pavilion has two floors which will provide wonderful architectural macro photography.

Taking photos can be pleasantly challenging; especially when taking shots of angles and viewing the different types of composition resulting from such a technique. The attached roof of the building at the park offers a unique, artistic texture of cement that takes on different shapes and sizes which will correlate well with the meetup theme. In addition, there is a remarkable view of the Cincinnati skyline and a cement trail for walking that measures 5 times around for 1 mile. I will offer a photography challenge and also show you how to go from JPG "Auto" mode into RAW/Manual Mode. Discussion and questions always welcome. Looking forward to seeing you there !!

RJ was very knowledgeable and went through the course material as expected, but also spent time to answer participant questions. Well worth the investment/class cost.

I was born and raised near downtown Dayton and I'm a driver, so I travel all over the Dayton metropolitan area every day. I see this building often when I'm in Springfield and I've been waiting for a sunny day to get some shots of it. I think the design is interesting. It gives you a very small glimpse into the lives of the people who live there.

Here's a simple composition, but one that I enjoy. A gentle breeze causes interfering capillary waves on a pond's surface, with slightly-shadowy turbulence smoothing to lighter calm in the direction of the flow. Taken on a cold winter morning at Possum Creek Metropark in Dayton, Ohio.

First off, I have to say that I am not a "Birder". But I love challenging my photographic skills and abilities. The American Kestrel is not a big bird, and it is fast. So even when you know its takeoff is imminent, it is still hard to get a nice clear photo of the bird. This particular image was shot with a Canon R6 camera, with the RF100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens at 1/5000 sec, f/7.1 and ISO 4000. I used the animal eye-tracking feature of this mirrorless full frame camera, and was very plea

I had shot the sunrise at Horseshoe Bend the same morning and was hoping for a blazing sunset at this location after talking to the other photographers present at sunrise. Even with some clouds, we were not so fortunate and when the sunlight was casting on the water I switched to black and white mentality and was able to capture this photo. You can just see the setting sun in the upper right corner for the photo.

It was a cloudy day and my cat was up in the tree. he had always had very deep blue, but with all the defused light from the clouds and the contrast from the tree bark, It sent me running for my camera.I shot it on a Nikon D5600, with a 70 - 200mm lens, on January 25, 2024.I shot it raw while in manual mode, the aperture was 4.1, the iso 100, and the shutter speed was 1 over 700.

This one took a bit of planning to catch the Milky Way in the place I wanted, the Weather, Moon, and Milky Way core all had to be right and as you might guess it took a few seasons for it to come together, every time it was a walk in the dark over the sand dunes from Pennard to get to the right spot on the cliff edge, I'm a little picky when it comes to star trails and although there are certain formulas for shutter speed to "visibly" limit star trails I'd rather have none, so I dragged my Star
